MonkeyParking is a mobile app that help people park their car in a button tap. The company was founded in 2013 by Paolo Dobrowolny, Federico Di Legge and Roberto Zanetti.[1]

MonkeyParking App

The app has two categories of users[2]:

  • space owners, can list their parking spots on the app and rent them to other people
  • people looking for parking, can get matched in a button tap with space owners' and park on their spot

Controversy

In June 2014, the San Francisco's City Attorney Office issued a cease-and-desist order to stop the company's operations in San Francisco, limited to on-street parking spots.[3] The city attorney, Dennis Herrera, sent a request to the legal department of Apple Inc. to remove the app from Apple's App Store.[4] In July 2014 MonkeyParking suspended its service in San Francisco.
