Funston's Ten Failures

I wasn't sure if it belonged in the article, but Funston has a top 10 list of failures:

  1. failing to challenge assumptions
  2. lacking of vigilance
  3. failing to recognize velocity and momentum
  4. failing to identify relationships and manage complexity
  5. failing to anticipate failure
  6. failing to verify sources and corroborate information
  7. failing to maintain a margin of safety
  8. focusing on the short term
  9. failing to act on the right risks
  10. lacking of operational discipline
