Scope

The journal covers the field of bioanalysis, a subdiscipline of analytical chemistry. The journal publishes articles on topics including drug and metabolite assays, chromatography and separation sciences, ligand binding assays, metabolomics, and key detection methods. The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, white papers and opinion pieces.

Impact, Abstracting and Indexing

The journal was launched in 2009, and in 2013 had an impact factor of 3.027 according to the Journal Citation Reports[2], ranking it 27th out of 78 journals in the category "Biochemical Research Methods"[3] and 19th out of 76 in the category “Chemistry, Analytical”[4]. The journal is indexed by BIOSIS Previews, BIOSIS Reviews Reports and Meetings, Chemical Abstracts, EMBASE/Excerpta Medica, Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition, MEDLINE/Index Medicus, Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch®) and Scopus.

Awards

Bioanalysis partners with the online eCommunity Bioanalysis Zone to run two annual award schemes – the Bioanalysis Young Investigator Award[5] (awarded since 2012), and the Bioanalysis Outstanding Contribution Award (BOSCA)[6] (awarded since 2014). The winner of the 2014 Young Investigator Award was XiuJun (James) Li (University of Texas at El Paso, TX, USA), which was awarded at the European Bioanalysis Forum 7th Open Symposium in Barcelona, Spain[7]. The winner of the 2014 BOSCA was Professor Ian Wilson, of Imperial College London, UK[8].
