Well, firstly things seem little strange here as i'm not used to editing in Wiki. This message is for Redrose64.

a. [[1]] point 2 specially immediately is not relevant on my idea as its understood blocked sites ofcourse are out of context.

b. As far as the other points - they are educative on Linking policy. We understand only where relevant an external link could be placed in the body. Wiki rather would have all external links at the bottom of the page where References are mentioned. Understandable when the question is a 'reference'.

c. I am talking about context. not reference. If i have a list of newspapers of USA listed in the body of the Wiki page, tell me if they must have external links as a context or not. Or should the link be only internal pointing to the wiki-page of that paper. In the wiki-page of List_of_newspapers_in_the_United_States we just have this list there. Its indeed nice that all of them have a wiki-page. But if i am a user taking a quick look at a list like this, would i appreciate an external link to the respective sites or not. And would it be contextual or not. Certainly it is not a Reference on that page.

d. What is the idea of the WWW. Is not Hyperlink intrinsic to the WWW entity. Where the page helps me to refer to other pages.

e. its a nice idea that Wikipedia likes to present itself as an all inclusive and closed out encyclopedia. We might as well have a ink and paper Wikipedia in that case.

f. In some way it appears too closed out. Like robbing both the source as well as the user of what the web is all about. Hyperlinking to original sources. If wiki were a proprietary domain, understood that it wants to promote its own pages. But when you say its kind of contributed by all and open-source property by that way.

g. if you have to stay on the web and be of relevance to users like me, have the external link embedded right into the body of the wiki-page.Tb kol (talk) 17:20, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
