Mantatisi was a warrior queen of a tribe called the Batlokoa, which means they venerated the now extinct cat called Tlokwa in South Africa, Lesotho and Botswana. She was the wife of Kgosi. Mokotjo, who fathered Sekonyela of the Batlokwa ba Mokotleng lineage. She reigned in the 1820s, during the time of Shaka.
