The City Bank is a private commercial bank, operating in Bangladesh. [1] The bank started its operation in 1983 and is a 1st generation bank of the country. This is one of the few banks in Bangladesh which is centralized and modern. [2]

New logo and services

The City Bank Limited took upon itself a massive revamp campaign for its 25th Anniversary in 2008. This include the launch of a new dynamic logo, launched American Express credit cards, brokerage business, and City Wallet (SMS Banking) service. The name of the bank was changed to only “City Bank” from its earlier “The City Bank Limited”. The new logo, depicting a kite in red and white checkered box, was launched on July, 2008. [3]

The launch of American Express cards gave the bank an edge that would go a long way in years to come. Being the most recognized card company globally, this exclusive partnership with Amex created a new offering for the customers. City Bank launched the country’s first ever mobile banking, City Wallet, with hope offering the financial services through a new channel.

Citygem

Citygem is the priority banking services of City Bank which is targeted to the wealthiest people of the country. The bank holds its Citygem customers as the top tier depositors with the bank. The customers in this segment are offered personalized services, wealth management services, gets several banking and lifestyle privileges. These consumers may use the virtual offices or lounges situated at Chittagong or Dhaka city for holding official meetings or just to relax for few hours.[4]
