Gloving is a form of art and modern dance which involves the use of fingertip LED lights to accentuate hand and digit movement.

Gloving has become increasingly mainstream in the entertainment sector and pop culture, and its rise to prominence has been tied to the growing popularity of Electronic Dance Music and raves in America.[1] Several elements of hip-hop dance such as liquiding, finger tutting, and popping have influenced gloving, as many of the same dance concepts and techniques can be applied to one another.[2] Prior to gloving, rave attendees twirled glow sticks for self expression, and before the addition of LED lights, glovers used plain white Mickey Mouse gloves, which reflected black light frequently employed at shows.[3]

Gloving performances are called lightshows, and the process of giving and receiving a lightshow is unique in that the glover entertains a single viewer while music from the concert plays in the background[4].Sean Okita 20:01, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
