Dark Shikari's Bot

[edit]

Dark Shikari is my main account on Wikipedia. This is a Pywikipedia bot, and runs when manually told to run.

Its current assigned job is to add {{WikiProject Anime and manga}} tags to Anime and Manga stubs that don't have them.

Versions so far:

[edit]
  • 0.99: Works fine except for slight issue with not adding line breaks after templates. Will fix this before declaring it 1.0.
  • 0.7 Beta: Should work perfectly on pretty much everything. Emergency shutoff compliant now.
  • 0.63 Beta: Using {{WikiProject Anime and manga|class=}} per discussion here instead of {{WikiProject Anime and manga}}.
  • 0.62 Beta: Japanese Voice Actor articles are not supposed to be Anime Stubs (IIRC), but some people have made them Anime Stubs. Since the bot has no easy way of telling whether an article is a voice actor stub labeled as an anime one, I have used the simplest method: it will search the talk page for a {{WPBiography}} tag. These appear to exist on nearly every voice actor page (as they're almost all living people). Its better than nothing.
  • 0.61 Beta: Major bug: Accidentally switched a flag, making it add templates when it shouldn't and not add templates when it should. Fixed very quickly.
  • 0.6 Beta: Major bug: did not recognize templates that used redirects! Fixed.
  • 0.5 Beta: Working bot that does a single job: adds WikiProject tags.
  • 0.1 Alpha: Proof of concept, checks Good Article tags.
