NewEnglandDoug is the Wikipedia account name for Douglass Taft Davidoff, a resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA, and a public relations consultant with an office in Stamford, Connecticut, USA. He was a newspaper reporter before entering the public relations profession.

Born in NewYork City on June 16, 1957, NewEnglandDoug was raised in Westport, Connecticut, and graduated in the Class of 1975 from Staples High School in that town. He attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, USA, where he participated in the freshman Twentieth Century America interdisciplinary studies program, served in several positions for the daily Duke Chronicle including news editor, sang in the Duke Chorale and Chapel Choir, and graduated with a degree in history in 1980.

NewEnglandDoug worked for the Cary News and the Raleigh Times in North Carolina before moving in 1983 to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he lived for 23 years. He worked for The Indianapolis News, the Hudson Institute, the Indiana Housing Finance Authority, and the Indiana Democratic Party staff before opening his own public relations firm. First named "Davidoff Public Relations," it was renamed in 2007 to "Straight Talk Public Relations."

NewEnglandDoug relocated to Chicago in 2006 and worked there for Canright Communications and Meadville-Lombard Theological School. In 2009, he moved to Massachusetts and reactivated Straight Talk Public Relations. In 2015, he relocated again, returning to his childhood home region in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Although again back in the orbit of New York City, he resolutely prefers to look the other way, toward the New England region and its mountains, rivers, coastline, and small towns.

NewEnglandDoug was married for 27 years, from 1979 to 2006, to the former Amy Curtiss, who in 2015 was a market research consultant in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. NewEnglandDoug later engaged in a six-year domestic partnership with The Rev. Marta Morris Flanagan, who was in 2015 senior minister of First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, Massachusetts. He moved to Connecticut at the end of that relationship just after Christmas 2014. NewEngland Doug is the father of Robert William Davidoff, born in Indianapolis in 1990, and Sarah Ellen Davidoff, born in Indianapolis in 1994.
