On Joe Thomas

I'm interested in the rationale behind your edits to Joe Thomas (actor) - as per WP:CENSOR I'm disputing them. ~ NottNott let's talk! contrib 15:47, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@NottNott: My rationale was that because the source being quoted censors "fuck" to "f**k", the quote in the article should be kept faithful to the text of the source. It's not because the word fuck itself needs to be censored. RA0808 talkcontribs 19:13, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I see - I did check the source next to the quote and it seems to be deadlinked. No problem. ~ NottNott let's talk! contrib 19:16, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@NottNott: The link is working fine for me, try here. It was deadlinking for me at first but now it works fine. RA0808 talkcontribs 19:23, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Shiva: September 2015

Hello, Thanks for letting me know. I would like for you to restore the changes that I made. I have done much research and was in the process of editing the page. I was not fully finished and was taking a break. I can explain my changes in the edit comments box once my changes are recovered.

Cheers! Adiyavar (talk) 04:06, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Adiyavar: You can consult your changes here. Please do not remove material without intending to replace it, if you'd like to work on changes at your own pace consider creating a userspace draft. RA0808 talkcontribs 04:08, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

CVS - Wikipedia

Hello,

I have taken out what I believe to be the promotional activity to which you described in your review.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CVS_(Business_Rent_%26_Rates)

Is this better now?

Thanks,

Martin — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martin Tide (talkcontribs) 09:22, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Martin Tide: There is an improvement, but several areas of the article still sound excessively promotional. The entire Background section still sounds like advert copy, I would recommend reading some of Wikipedia's policies on neutral point of view for information on how to improve the article. I have already gone in and made some improvements to phrasing etc. RA0808 talkcontribs 02:11, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, many thanks for making those amends. I'm trying my best to meet the guidelines. All the information in the background is sourced with citations, however I do agree that this line is still slightly promotional: CVS has ensured that thousands of businesses are paying a fair level of business rates and have also secured the best possible terms on their rents.[3] However it is a fair description of what the business does. Do you feel it needs amending? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martin Tide (talkcontribs) 09:48, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Martin Tide: It definitely requires amending, there are more neutral ways of phrasing that. RA0808 talkcontribs 15:12, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the phrase is a factual element of the company's business, which is supported with a relevant citation. I have made further amends to it: "CVS helps businesses ensure that they are paying a fair level of business rates and also try and secure the best possible terms on their rents.[3]" Is this more suitable? Thanks for your help, Martin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martin Tide (talkcontribs) 09:12, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for helping and making further amends to the page. Will the message at the top now be removed? Many thanks, Martin — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martin Tide (talkcontribs) 08:21, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Urban Meyer

I did not realize that I was vandalizing the page, I just knew that Meyer was friends with Tebow and the announcers on Golf Channel said that he lived in Muirfield Village. I am new to Wikipedia and I am sorry I messed up. Caleb David Smith (talk) 19:16, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do you work for Wikipedia?

How can adding where a person lives be vandalism, and result in getting kicked off Wikipedia? If everyone could be blocked from editing articles after adding where someone lives then nobody could edit any articles at all. Caleb David Smith (talk) 19:32, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Caleb David Smith: I'll answer your messages in the order that they were received (for future reference it is good form to keep messages in one section, and to wait for the person to respond before continuing messaging):
(1) It's fine that it was a mistake, but for the future remember this rule of thumb: removing cited material to add uncited material is generally not considered to be constructive (see WP:CITE).
(2) No. I cannot block you from editing because I am not an Administrator. No, I am a person who does this in my spare time and am not employed by the Wikimedia Foundation (very few people are).
(3) No. I did not remove anything because of my personal beliefs/opinions and I resent to that suggestion. The edits were removed because they were not constuctive (as I mentioned above), my personal beliefs have nothing to do with it.
(4) No. I highly suggest you stop with this line of commentary because it is verging on a personal attack, which is treated seriously on Wikipedia. I'm willing to let those comments go because you are new, but please do not use people's affiliations and identities to attack their credibility again.
(5) Vandalism is a blanket term that covers a variety of disruptive edits to Wikipedia (for example adding uncited material as I mentioned above). The general rule is 4 warnings then reported to administrators.
You seem to be having some trouble acclimating to Wikipedia's policies, which is normal for a new user, but I still believe that you wish contribute constructively. I recommend seeking assistance from the resources for new editors to ensure that you can achieve these goals. RA0808 talkcontribs 19:36, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you threatening to ban me?

Is it the fact that I am a Christian? Caleb David Smith (talk) 19:39, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry.

I am a Christian, but I stepped over the line there. Please forgive me for that, and remember that God is watching you all the time. He has the hairs on your head counted right now, and he loves you Caleb David Smith (talk) 19:42, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Caleb David Smith: Nope, sorry doesn't cut it this time. You have been cut plenty of slack by Walter Gorlitz and myself... and yet you still crossed the line. RA0808 talkcontribs 19:45, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Walter Gorlitz

So you and Walter, who is a Christian, have decided to gang up on me, right? I am going to report you both to Wikipedia for slandering me and threatening me. I just apologized, and this is how you respond? Just think about one thing. WWJD Caleb David Smith (talk) 19:47, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Caleb David Smith: No one has slandered you, and no one is ganging up on you. Walter, myself, and several other editors cut you slack because we assumed that you were still coming from a place of positive intent. Personally attacking editors and repeatedly taking a confrontational attitude has shown that we were incorrect. RA0808 talkcontribs 19:50, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Attacks.

I am sorry for personal attacks, and I have deleted the one comment that was offensive. I will not do that again. I only had the best intentions. Thank you, and thank Walter as well for trying to keep Wikipedia safe. However, are you aware that Urban Meyer is a friend of Tim, and that he lives in Muirfield? Caleb David Smith (talk) 19:53, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Terms of Use

If you read the Wikipedia terms of use, it says not to harass others. I believe that we both have gone there, and I think that we should apologize, so, I'm sorry. Have a nice day, and I hope to hear from you soon. Caleb David Smith (talk) 20:07, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
