Lonelygirl15 (first name Bree) is a video blogger at Youtube[1]. Her video blogs have become incredibly popular in fairly short order, leading to much speculation as to the honesty of the content.

Lonelygirl15's partner in the blogs is Danielbeast - credited with supporting her technology, and helping her set-up with charade via her webcam. A story arc has emerged from their blogs of initially unrequited love, and the elements of strict parenting (Bree is homeschooled by apparantly strictly religious parents), romantic confusion (she is unsure of how to react when Daniel confesses that he 'likes her'), and forbidden experimentation (her parents are unaware of her video blogs) - are Shakesperian in their nature.

Speculation that lonelygirl15 may be part of a teaser campaign for a TV show in development has reached as far as the New York Times, with Lonelygirl15 appearing on the front page of nytimes.com[2] on 4th August 2006, with this article discussing her explosion in popularity. - [3].

The fact that her website domain name was registered a month before her video posts began on YouTube, along with the fact that her strict parents allow her to spend time alone with Daniel in her room, are the central planks of the argument that Lonelygirl15 is a fictional creation in order to promote a product via use of your money to her PayPal account.

Her most recent video, "What Did Daniel and Dad Talk About", seemed to put to rest rumors of Lonelygirl actually using professional lighting or the possibility that her room was actually a soundstage. However, the picture quality is notably diminished in this new episode, leading to the belief that aspects of the episode such as that was done purposely to quiet the rumors. In a disturbing new twist, this latest video also shows an apparant altar in her room which seems to suggest that Bree is a follower of the occultist Alesteir Crowley.
