HISTORICAL CORRECTION

I object to the characterization of me in this article. And I consider the reference to me to be a violation of the spirit of Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy.

As a point of historical accuracy, this organization, prior to 1980, was known as "Star Fleet Command" (SFC) and "Star Fleet" was two words, much the same as the "Star Fleet Techinical Manual" by Franz Joseph, which was published in the 1970s.

By 1981, the organization was defunct. I did not 'take over' "Star Fleet Command," because there was no functioning organization to take over. There were no official records available to me. No database of members. Nothing. I believe Brandt Harrington was age 14 at the time, and not even legally eligible to run such an organization. The Star Trek Welcommittee and Starlog Magazine had both blacklisted SFC because of the number of complaints received by SFC members who never received membership materials because the organization was inactive and defunct. The government of West Germany had issued arrest warrants for SFC leaders for violations of German law.

In 1981, I established a new organization known as "Starfleet: The International Star Trek Fan Association", which was registered for the first time with the IRS as a non-profit organization. I invited all the former SFC members (that I knew of) to join me in the new organization and promised that their memberships in SFC would be honored by the new organization. The new organization was subsequently recognized by both the Star Trek Welcommittee and Starlog Magazine as a new organization.

It's ironic to me that both "Starfleet International" and the reinstituted "Starfleet Command" both lay claim to the original "Star Fleet Command" history. The three organizations are each distinctly different.
