  • Comment: Thanks for the submission. Kočevje is currently a rather short article. What would you think about moving this draft to main space, merging the contents into Kočevje, and make Flag of Kočevje a redirect for now? -- Sam Sailor Talk! 10:17, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
Sure! Sounds great. I have already taken the liberty of adding this to the article for Kočevje -- JLanzer (talk) 14:55, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

The flag of Kočevje is a tricolor consisting of three equal horizontal bands displaying the colors of Kočevje: blue and white, defaced with the coat of arms.[2]

Origins

The association with the colors blue and white surfaced around the 1470's when Emperor Frederick III (cesarja Friderika III) approved the design of the coat of arms, along with civic rights. on 19 April 1471. The flag during that time varies from the one that you see today. The old flag was a bicolor of blue and white, defaced with the coat of arms which was also different at the time.

Design

Blue and white urban color is derived from the coat of arms of colors, as was then customary.
