In the picture the teichoic acid has a 2-aminopropyl substitution. it should be a D-alanine sunstitution. The carbonyl is missing....

So what IS LTA? lipid, carbohydrate? I guess since it says "may contain long chains of ribitol or glycerol phosphate" that it is mostly considered a polysaccharide, but if so, why is it called an acid?
