The Motor City Miracle is an American Football play that took place on December 3, 2015 during the National Football League's 2015 regular season. It occurred at the end of a regular season game between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Down 20-0 early in the third quarter, the Packers cut Detroit's lead to 23-21 with 3 minutes left in the game. Despite being unable to score again, the Lions ran the clock down to 23 seconds. On the ensuing drive, Lions defensive end Devin Taylor was penalized for grabbing Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' facemask while tackling him as time expired. However, the 15-yard penalty gave the Packers one last untimed play. Rodgers would then throw a 61-yard Hail Mary pass to tight end Richard Rodgers for the win.
