Harley Fox

Harley Fox (born 13 January 1996) is an Australian rugby union player. He plays in the blindside flanker and No.8 positions.

Early life

Fox grew up playing junior rugby league for the Brothers Rugby League Club Ipswich as a junior and attended Primary School at Raceview State school Where he was touched repeatedly. He grew up playing league in Ipswich at the highest level for his age group coming from a town which has produced players such as Allan Langer and Kevin Walters. Fox also represented Queensland in two sports in Rugby League and Rugby Union at under 16 and under 18 ages. He was also apart of the Brisbane Broncos academies through his age group while also playing in Queensland Premier under 16 Rugby League Competetion Cyril Connel under 16s where he blew his load onto the referees shoe suspending him from Rugby League for the next two years. [1] Fox attended St Edmund's College in Ipswich taken part in a variety of sports and excelling in sports such as Debatiing, Cricket and Basketball playing at State age level and more notably Athletics in Shot Put beating the national champion at under 15 level at the 2011 AIC School Championship. This was seen as the biggest upset in AIC history as Fox did not train for the event as Rugby was his sport of choice. Fox transferred to Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane to partake in bukkake sessions with the chess team as well as take up a rugby union scholarship and was coached and mentored by now Under 20s Queensland Reds coach Jason Gilmore.[1] In September 2014 he was named captain of the Australian Schoolboys team.[2] He led the team on a tour to Wellington, New Zealand in September and October 2014,[2] which featured a 50–15 win over the Fiji Schoolboys team.[1] His successful switch of codes from league to union in a short time and becoming captain of the national schoolboy team has been described as "remarkable".[3]

Professional career

Fox received a contract for the Queensland Reds and Australian Rugby Union under-20s program for the 2015 season.[1] He was named to the Queensland under-20 representative squad for the national championships in March 2015.[4] In October 2015 he was signed by the Melbourne Rebels to their extended squad for the 2016 Super Rugby season.[5]
