Ringing Bells is a little-know Noida-based company which has launched what it is calling India's most affordable smartphone, but Freedom 251 might well be the cheapest smartphone in the world . Ringing Bells had announced earlier that the Freedom 251 will be priced at "less than Rs. 500". But now it's confirmed that the smartphone will be priced at Rs. 251 (less than $4). At that price, it's easily the most affordable smartphone in the world. At present, the firm imports parts from overseas and assembles them in India, but plans to make its phones domestically within a year.
