Val Kahl (born Valérie Kahl in 1982 in Le Chesnay, France) is a French television host, radio host, journalist, producer and actress. She is known in France for being the winner of the Reality TV Show Le grand casting de la Télé on 'NRJ12' Network in 2010,[1] a Reality TV show looking for their next Tvhost and hosting pop culture shows on "NRJ12" and "MCM".[2] She is now an LA-based Entertainment TV and radio Special correspondent producer for the French media. Known for her appearances as a TV and Radio special correspondent on I24News, NonStopPeople, Nrj12, BelRTL. She is a co-host on Fashion411, Black Hollywood Live and AfterBuzzTV an online entertainment broadcast network founded by Maria Menounos and partner Keven Undergaro [3][4] talking about the Fashion and trends between Paris and Hollywood. Also recognized as an actress in a viral parody she produced on the interview of French TV host Enora Malagré and Pharrell Williams on "Virgin radio" going bad in 2015.[5] Her parody was a hit all over French media. Based since 2013 In the United States, she is also the founder [6] of FrenchFriesProduction a media and production company.

Early life

Kahl was born in Le Chesnay,France. Being a teenager she spent a lot of her time abroad in Seattle, NYC, and Durham living with exchange families as she was passionated with the US and wanted to live and study there.After her Literature baccalaureate Val studied Political Science at a prep school in Paris and also at ILERI school. She got her Bachelor in broadcasting and communication at EFAP, Paris. She further completed her graduate degree at NYIT, and NYU in NYC. She became an intern at CBSNewsPath with the Dan Rather team where she focused on the European news segments in 2003. Then, she worked for The Bromley Group, as a Fashion PR manager.

Television career

After returning to France, Kahl got selected among thousands of hundreds of candidates for a Reality TV show looking for their next host: Le Grand Casting de la Télé[7] in 2010, becoming the next face of NRJ12 Networks. She became the face of NRJ12 for French Entertainment and NRJ Paris by hosting celebrity talk shows Paris C'estFou 2011 Val By Night2011, 2012, Tellement Cannes[8] 2011, 2012, 2013NRJ Music Awards 2012, 2013 hosting on news, fashion, Lifestyle shows and covering major prestigious international pop awards, from the MTV Music Awards to the NRJ Music Awards and the Cannes Film Festival. In 2012 Kahl hosted an Extreme Makeover show, coaching families in Belgium and France with their Lifestyle: food, style and fitness with a team of coach. She was labeled a US reality TV expert on Le Mag "Les Anges de la téléréalité season 1 and 2 hosted by Matthieu Delormeau. In Le Mag she had her 10 minutes Val By Night segment where she reported on Fashion, movie and celebrity interviews. She co-presented on MCM the specials La Nuit de la pub drole and La nuit de la pub sexy with TV host Bruno Guillon and made appearances on Touche Pas a Mon Poste on France 4 in 2014. Val has worked the red carpet with music superstars Alicia Keys, the Black Eyed Peas, LMFAO, PSY, Shakira, and interviewed movie industry greats like Mark Wahlberg, Marion Cotillard, Collin Firth and L.A.’s newest arrival Omar Sy. She also interviewed famous chefs, Jean-François Piège and Alain Ducasse as well as DJs Bob Sinclar and David Guetta. like Amy Schuler, Amy Adams, Jerry Springer, Michael Wilkinson, Sting, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Eva Longoria, Andie Mac Dowell, Nicole Sherzinger and many others.

Val moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to become the US Special correspondent for the entertainment network NonStopPeople and I24News reporting on movies and Hollywood. In 2014 she is a French Celebrity Expert on "Extra[disambiguation needed]' to talk about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding in Versailles. Maria Menounos met her at Extra and asked her to be a host on Fashion411, on Black Hollywood Live. Val Kahl hosts her segment "Le Chaud" on all the trends, fashion and lifestyle between Paris and Hollywood. On this segment, she has interviewed Beverly Johnson, Summer Wayans, Eugenia Kuzmina.

In 2015 Kahl was announced on Le daily Mag[9] on Nrj12 to produce and host Daily Mag Hollywood.

Acting In 2013, Les sosies à Hollywood, herself In 2015 Val wrote, produced and acted in Pharrell Williams interview by Enora Malagré, an online parody of a real interview of Pharrell William by a French host Enora Malagré gone wrong. The parody became an online hit[10]

Press Since 2015 she is the US chief editor of Welcome Magazine, a French and English luxury print and online magazine reporting on Hollywood, celebrity interviews, and trends.

'Radio' In 2016 Val Kahl hosts a Hollywood segment on "BelRTL" Matin Week End with Fabrice Brouwers(Radio host)Fabrice Brouwers reporting on trends, Buzz and movie in Hollywood.

""'Spokesperson and brand endorsement Kahl hosted the DANONE WORLD CUP 2012 in JAPAN. In December 2015 she presented the Cote d’Or French Song Festival in Dijon with Mario Barravecchia[11] a competition for France's new talents.

Production

in 2014 she founded a production company, FrenchFriesProduction, producing Reality TV shows and documentaries for French and Belgium channels and commercials for LA based Lifestyle brands. Producer on Les Sosies a Hollywood, TF6 2013, Les Cht’is a Hollywood 2014 W9, Les Anges de la Télé Réalité, 2014 Hollywood Girls NRJ12, Helene et les animaux in Hollywood France 5 2015 Kahl produced and appeared on online commercials for Lifestyle and luxury brands such as Skylton, Taittinger, Iriswork, French Festival, Normandie Bakery, and the French American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles.

Charity work

Val Kahl spent months traveling through India, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia and China between 2000 and 2003. She also volunteered for humanitarian work supporting Mother Theresa's convent in Calcutta working with orphans and lepers.
