Nonceveux is a village located in the municipality of Aywaille in the province of Liege, in Walloon region, Belgium.
Before the merger of the municipalities, Nonceveux was part of the Sougne-Remouchamps town.
Situation
This Ardennes village is situated inside of a meander of the Ambleve which just came out of the Fonds de Quareux. Nonceveux is built on the left bank 6 kilometers away from in the upstream part of Remouchamps south-east.
Description
Nonceveux is a small town well known to tourists and more particularly to camping lovers. Indeed, it has several campings as well near the left bank village as the right bank, which is more downstream. The chapel that became the Sint Therese of Avila church was built in 1790. Nonceveux also has a local school. The GR 571 path known for hiking crosses the village.
Personnality
The architech Paul Comblen, auteur of the Maison Combien in Liege, lived the last part of his life in Nonceveux and passed away there in 1955.
