Madagiz (Armenian: Մատաղիս *Mataghis*) is a village de jure in the Tartar Rayon of Azerbaijan, de facto in the Martakert Region of the independent Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, near the de facto line of control.

It was under Karabakhi control after the 1994 ceasefire.[1][2][3][4]

Azerbaijani forces claimed to have attacked and retaken the village during clashes on April 4th, 2016, but the Ministry of Defence of Nagorno-Karabakh disputed this claim as disinformation. [5]

Saint Yeghishe Church and Mataghis Reservoir are located near the village, which is on the road leading to Talış, Tartar. A bit further is the Yeghishe Arakyal Monastery.
