On the Wight, which was launched in 2005 with the name VentnorBlog, is an award-winning hyperlocal news website for the Isle of Wight in southern England. Originally focussed on events in the town of Ventnor, their coverage has expanded to include matters across the entire county. The site was named Best Hyperlocal Site and received another award for Best Hyperlocal Story at the 2010 Talk About Local 'unconference'.[1]
