Kiankeat is also known as Kian Keat Lee, Lee Kian Keat, K.K.Lee.

K. K. Lee received his B.Sc. (Industrial Chemistry) and M.Sc. (Chemistry) from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He joined the National University of Singapore Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Initiative (NUSNNI) as a laboratory staff member in 2007 and later obtained his PhD from the Department of Chemistry, NUS. His PhD research focused on studies of inorganic nanomaterials (particularly cobalt and iron compounds) for electrochemical applications. Later, he was a research fellow at the Energy Research Institute @ Nanyang Technological University (ERI@N). He is a postdoctoral researcher in Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry, Stockholm University since November 2014. He is interested in designing advanced materials for solar energy conversion and electrochemical energy storage.
