Anima: Gate of Memories is an action RPG game developed by the independent game studio Anima Project, fundend by a Kickstarter campaign and published by Badland Indie. The game is part of the Spanish role-playing game "Anima: Beyond Fantasy"'s francise. The game is built on a proprietary engine. It was released for Microsoft Windows, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One on June 3, 2016.
Anima: Gate of Memories is a third person action RPG. The game is mostly focused on combat and exploration, but it will also have a huge roleplaying elements. While it is story driven, it doesn’t force you to ride along rails to complete it. The game gives players freedom to explore a rich world and tackle only the obstacles that they want. This way, each player can visit many diverse places and reach very different endings depending on their choices.
The soundtrack is developed by Damian Sanchez and Marc Celma. Sanchez is an award winning music composer, producer, sound designer and audio director of his own music production company based in Valencia, Spain, while Celma is a composer with a career of 15 years in the doom metal band Mentat.[1]
Gameplay
Gate of Memories is a third-person Action RPG where you control two different characters: The Bearer and Ergo Mundus. The two cannot fight simultaneously, making only one of them “physically” present at once. Despite this they can switch with each other even in the middle of an action, continuing the movement with a completely different skill creating new combos. For example, while The Bearer is carrying an offensive combo we can invoke Ergo to perform an attack that launches the enemy into the air, only to switch back immediately to The Bearer and continue the air combo. Each one has at its disposal a number of basic skills such as attacks or dodges, to which they add a large set of special skills that that the player can develop and customize as in a traditional RPG.

Anima: Gate of Memories received mixed reviews, with some reviewers like Destructoid praising it while others like GameSpew heavily criticizing it. The prasises were especially for the longevity, the environments and the soundtrack, while the critics were especially for the uncooperative camera, the bad tutorials and the voice acting.
