Anjali Chandrashekhar

She is from Chennai, but she live in New York.[1]She is 22.[1] An artist at just 16, Anjali works and raises funds for natural calamity, child abuse, and rehabilitation for underprivileged children through her artistic creations. In 2008, at an International Diabetes Charity, she raised around $5000 and used that money to provide insulin to many poverty stricken diabetic children.[2]

Anjali Chandrashekar won the third prize at the United Nations Poster for Peace Contest. She received the award at the U.N. Headquarters in New York on May 3.[3]

Nuclear disarmament is usually spoken about on such a high level and I believe that art has the power to humanize some of the most pressing issues that the world faces today.[4]

The young artist was only 10 when she founded 'Picture It', a non-governmental organisation that uses imagery to raise awareness and funds for various health, humanitarian and environmental causes.[4]

She uses her work to benefit underprivileged kids, primarily. In fact she uses her art to raise funds for causes like diabetes, dialysis, rehabilitation of underprivileged kids, child abuse, cerebral palsy, etc.[5]
