Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good (CACG) is a non-partisan, Roman Catholic, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in the United States, which aims to promote "the fullness of the Catholic social tradition in the public square".[1] The organization was founded in 2005 by Tom Perriello.

Controversy

In October 2016, as part of a WikiLeaks (The Podesta Emails) release, long-time Democratic Party senior operative John Podesta was connected to its creation. Podesta, in a private email with Voices for Progress President Sandy Newman, claimed creation of the organization with the intention of organizing Catholics to oppose Church doctrines.[2] CACG responded to the leak by supporting Podesta and the others implicated: "No one should fault them for having candid discussions about serious issues facing the Catholic Church."[3]
