Doug Lamborn

Doug Lamborn is a Republican member of the Colorado State Senate representing Colorado's 9th legislative district. Lamborn is the ranking Republican on the Colorado State Military and Veterans Affairs, and Appropriations committees. Lamborn is currently the Republican nominee for U.S. Congress in Colorado's 5th congressional district which is being vacated by Rep. Joel Hefley.

On August 29, 2006, Hefley expressed distress that his successor was not, Jeff Crank but Lamborn who he does not approve of (though the RNC does) Hefley explained "I spent eight years trying to get rid of the sleaze factor in Congress...It's not something I can do to help put more sleaze factor in Congress." [1]

Electoral history

Lamborn won a close Republican primary on August 8, 2006. Absentee ballots, late in the evening gave him the victory.[1]
