Umarabad is a small village situated 3km in the North East of Sawaldher Distt Mardan.The famous upper swat canal passes through this village. The village has more than 100 Stone crasher mills. The most renowned personality of the village is the late Sufi Saeed Muhammad (Sufi sahib) (1949 to 2000) who was a medical practitioner social worker and the " Rukn" of Jumat-e-islami Pakistan the village has one primary school one masjid and the hujra of Sufi sahib. The Buddhist town known as "tharalli" is situated near this village the people living are yousafzais, gojar,tarkhanan,shahkhelan and sawaldhrians. Most of the people are farmers. The only Master degree holder in the village is the writer of this article.
