Biography

Ralph Cotton attributes much of his success as a writer to his earlier careers, which inclue second mate on a commercial barge, teamster, lay minister with the Lutheran church and iron worker. He began writing in the third grade, finding it to be an escape from the school work at which he did poorly. His litterary interests at that time ranged from the pulp westerns of Louis L'Amour to the literary works of William Faulkner.
