253 Provost Company Royal Military Police, often shortened to 253 Pro Coy RMP, is an Army Reserve unit based in Tulse Hill, London. The company previously had a detachment at Southampton, that closed in 2014.

4 Regiment RMP

The company is part of 4th Regiment, Royal Military Police—which is a hybrid Army Reserve and Regular Army unit. The regimental headquarters is located at Mellor House, Buller Barracks, Aldershot Garrison.

On completion of (Phase 1- Soldiering) and trade (Phase 2 - Military Police) training soldiers join the unit as a junior Non Commissioned Officer and complete a range of Basic Close Combat Skills and policing training.

In recent years 253 Provost Company has undertaken a number of operational tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and Cyprus. Individuals from 253 Provost Company have also deployed in Close Protection (CP) teams worldwide.
