Mick Lynch was an irish musician, best known forhis work in the irish-english band "Stump.

His band projevt Stump was popular amongst the British music press in the 80s and beginning of the 90s. The well-known DJ John Peel was a fan of their music. Stump was led by Mick Lynch and influenced by Frank Zappa and Captain Beefhart and others. Lynch was especially popular for his excellent lyrics. Stump - with Lynch as one of their main actors - released a mini-album in 1986, titled "Quirk Out". Two years later, they released their only proper full-length album "A Fierce Pancake".

Mick Lynch was involved in a lot of musical projects the last years, though he never reached significant commercial success. A remarked album was his last record, "Aliens, Ghosts and Lovers" with the Frank Sinatra-Cover "It Was a Very Good Year".

Mick Lynch died on December 17th 2015.
