Trail of Deletions

My Talk page is littered with a history of some of my edits or pages being marked for deletion. I think it is wrong to delete edits, especially if they are sourced to credible news sources. If all we are doing here is spreading information, why is there an automatic need to mark things for deletion ? Why is information threatening ?

I've copied some useful links and information below from somebody else's user page. I hope you find it helpful.
