Ruslan "Russ" Salakhutdinov is a Canadian researcher working in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

He specializes in deep learning, probabilistic graphical models, and large-scale optimization.[1]


Life

His doctoral advisor was the legendary Geoff Hinton.[2]

He is well known for having developed Bayesian Program Learning.[3]

Career

He is a professor of computer science at the Carnegie Mellon University.[4]

Since 2009, he's published at least 42 papers on machine learning.[5]

In 2016, he joined Apple as its director of AI research.[6]

Awards

He is a CIFAR fellow.[7]
