Gagik Kim Yeganyan (Armenian: Գագիկ Կիմի Եգանյան; born June 2, 1956) is an Armenian Politician .

Biography

He was born in the village of Arakyal in the Hadrut Region of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. In 1972, Yeganyan finished the secondary school of Physics and Mathematics of Yerevan State University and entered YSU Department of Economics. In 1977, he graduated from the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics, Yerevan Institute of National Economy and became a postgraduate at the same Institute. He was a nominal pensioner during his years at the Institute. In 1981, Yeganyan defended his candidate’s thesis and started giving lectures at Yerevan Institute of National Economy (1981-1983). In the period 1983-1990, Gagik Yeganyan officiated at different departments of Administration of the Armenian SSR Council of Ministers. In 1990, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Social Security of the Armenian SSR, and soon afterwards in 1991, First Deputy Minister of Social Security of the Republic of Armenia. In the period May 1998 to June 1999, Gagik Yeganyan was the RA Minister of Social Welfare. Since September 1999, he has headed the RA Government Department on Migration and Refugee Affairs and is still in office.

Personal life

He is married and has two sons.
