Arsala Rahmani

Arsala Rahmani is an Afghan politician, who served as Prime Minister.

He was a mujahideen commander during the "Jihad" against Soviet occupation forces. By June government troops had driven the rebel forces from Kabul, and in November he was named Prime Minister. In March 1995, government troops repelled the forces of the southern-based Taliban.

He served as Deputy Prime Minister during the Presidency of Burhanuddin Rabbani. He served later as Deputy Education Minister in the Taliban regime,

On February 16, he was one of the four former Taliban leaders that accepted the reconciliation offer from the Afghan government.

He was also named deputy leader of Khuddamul Furqan for political affairs.
