Ayat Stars Football Club is a South Sudanese soccer club globally known as Ayat Stars or simply Ayat. The club is currently based in [1]Aweil, South Sudan. The team is nicknamed The Thunders. The football tournament that lasted for almost three weeks in Aweil ended with a tournament of best contenders of the country amply initiated as a means of selecting the best players in each state of South Sudan to eventually compete at the national level. The football official mentioned that after finishing the tournament the best team was now Al-Salam is assembling a competition to play amongst its counterparts Al-Marreikh and Hai-Al-Toch in [2]. Conclusively there are 7 other state teams that are anxious to move onward. The tournament finishing is apt to ask “What will happen and that which will follow after we have finished the football match? The General Football Union is looking to name another hero. The team came into existence on December 30, 2009 and initially started as a part of the South Sudan Premier League (SSPL).[3][4][5] Ayat shares Aweil Stadium with various teams such as Tuektuek, Madiria, Apada, Merreikh Aweil, Salaam Aweil and Aweil Stars. Between 2008 and 2011, the Ugandan government and the South Sudanese government undertook joint efforts to develop a railway link between the Northern Ugandan city of Gulu and Juba, with an extension to Wau. A memorandum of understanding between the two governments was signed to that effect in August 2008.[6] The same memorandum outlined plans to develop the road network between the two countries. Recent media reports from the region suggest that the railway link from Juba may link directly with Kenya, bypassing Uganda.[7] They participate in the South Sudan Premier League, South Sudan National Cup and South Sudan Football Championship depending on qualification.
