Shaye Saint John is a fictional character who appeared in a series of surrealist, campy short films hosted on a crudely designed webpage. Saint John, a product of artist Eric Fournier,[1] was described with a backstory claiming she was a supermodel disfigured in a train accident, who rebuilt her body with a collection of mannequin parts.[2]

Shaye Saint John

Shaye Saint John was a model who had lost her arms and legs in a tragic train accident, after which she always wore a plastic mask and wigs to hide her appearance.[2] She refused to use prosthetics as she liked them "too much" and chose mannequin parts instead as they were "fun" to use. In 2003, the character started a blog at LiveJournal; a YouTube channel named Elastic Spastic Plastic Fantastic uploaded all 56 of the 'Shaye' videos in 2006-2007.

Eric Fournier

Fournier created the Shaye Saint John character, in the 1990s, he was in punk bands called The Blood Farmers and Skelegore. He started filming videos with a character that he created named, "Shaye Saint John". The very first video that he filmed was called Stumpwater Salad. Fournier would go on and make a DVD called "The Triggers Compilation" with over 30 Shaye videos on DVD. Fournier was credited as Director, Writer, Editor and Producer of the DVD. Fournier died on 25 February 2010, aged 42, from internal bleeding at a hospital in Palm Springs brought on by alcoholism.

Eric and Shaye

Documentary Director Larry Wessel, is in the process of making a documentary film about Shaye Saint John and the personal life of the character's creator Eric Fournier titled "Eric and Shaye". Wessel started a Kickstarter campaign for people to fund the movie to make DVD copies, posters, shirts, and a costumes to dress up as Shaye. The campaign hit its goal and Wessel announced that the movie would be out on October 31, 2016.[3]
