Lourdes Chacón (born during the 1960s) is an International Puerto Rican dancer, singer, vedette, and actress.

Biography

Lourdes Chacón enjoyed huge popularity and media exposure during the 1980s and 1990s in the Island of Puerto Rico. She was also very popular in Mexico, where she was baptized under the name "Piel de Fuego" (the one with the "Skin on Fire" or "Fiery Skin"). And earned fame in the Republic of Panama, where she was given the award for La "Vedette de La Decada" (The best Vedette of the Decade). She is known as "La Vedette de Puerto Rico". The word "vedette" in French, means "Star of the Show". And like a Burlesque dancer, a Vegas "Show-girl", a Cabaret dancer or an exotic dancer, her performances are provocative, spectacular, exciting and sensual. It has been said that she is the personification of "El Ritmo, Fuego y Sabor" (Rhythm, Fire, and Flavor); Her show is an encompassing experiences of her passionate life.
Lourdes Chacón had retired from the world of entertainment in the late 90's after her marriage and with the birth of her first daughter, Chaliana Batista, a year later she had a second child, Alfredo Batista "Alfredito".
In early 2000 she later divorced and resumed her career. She worked on several theater performances, TV mini-series, and finally her comeback as an active vedette.
Lourdes Chacón has had many memorable appearances on television and stage. Puerto Ricans shares her classic catch phrase from one of her songs: "¡Yo Te Lo Doy...Mañana!" (I'll Give It To You Tomorrow) which has become a memorable song from her self-titled album. "El Pescaito" (The Little Fish Song) has become the most requested song from her old performances among others. Lourdes Chacón is considered one of the best dancers of her time in the Island of Puerto Rico and this "living-legend" continues to make history as a public icon.
