GPD XD is a handheld game console made by GamePad Digital,[1] based on Android, released in late 2015.[2] It is similarly sized to a Nintendo 3DS XL,[3] but with a single, capacitive touch-screen, and focuses in running emulators.
Software
Out of the box, it comes with Android 4.4.4 with pre-installed game emulators and even apps used to run pirated Android games. It is possible to change this system software to a newer, community-based version.
For Android games that do not support hardware controls, it is possible to map the physical buttons to virtual buttons on the screen[4]
Hardware
The hardware is powerful enough to emulate systems up to PlayStation Portable and Sega Dreamcast, as well as current Android games.
