YOU OWE ME A MAJOR APOLOGY

I believe that you are intending to reference me in your article at Honor of the South.

YOU WROTE: "I agreed to consult this book. When I initiated a discussion of the book on the user's talk page, the thread was deleted without notice.... etc."

By "reverse-tracking," I checked your posting history, in an attempt to discover whom you were referencing.

By that method, I discovered that you had posted a message at: FixBayonets!

GUESS WHAT, GENIUS?...

...THAT IS NOT MY TALK PAGE!...

... AND THAT IS NOT MY USER ACCOUNT!

Had you bothered to check your syntax, you would have easily discovered that my talk page and user account is at
Fix_Bayonets! (as there is a space between the words "Fix" and "Bayonets!"

SEE THE UNDERSCORE BETWEEN "Fix" and "Bayonets!" ???? DO YOU SEE YOUR PROBLEM NOW?

I'll tell you what:

  • Then you immediately apologize to me (by posting at my talk page) for making baseless accusations based on your very poorly conducted investigation of facts;
  • THEN YOU IMMEDIATELY REMOVE your message at Honor of the South and replace it with a simple and breif line of apology (example: "On Sept. 24th, I made accusations here in error, based upon my own mistaken belief(s), for which I now apologize").
  • Finally, when addressing me in the future, I highly suggest you adopt a civil and non-pompous/non-sanctimonious tone. I am not a fool (as you seem to think), and I do not respond well to insults: especially insults couched behind a not-so-clever façade of superficial language.

Then we can re-initiate discussion, and all will be forgotten and forgiven. Otherwise, I will consider all of the above to be orchestrated and intentional acts of bad faith made in flagrant contravention of Wikipedia policy.

I have removed the entire comment. Please accept my apology. I have learned a lesson about how to use Wikipedia tools, and about jumping to conclusions.
My error was an honest one, if careless. I ask you to make allowance for my inexperience and an understandable conflation of user names. I am not persuaded that it was due to a lack of intelligence or diligence, as you have suggested.
If my tone seemed pompous, sanctimonious, or in any way condescending, I apologize for that as well. Please attribute it to my inability to convey my true sentiments properly. I did not intend to insult you, even when I mistakenly believed that you had summarily deleted my comments twice.
You recall that I also complained about the instant revert of my changes, without discussion. I do not want an apology -- just an improved working relationship. I regret that my error has made that more difficult.
I am here in good faith. In all my actions here, I have assumed good faith on everyone else's part.
I ask that you do as much for me. You have made some statements about me that are a little hard to take. There are no grounds for your expressed suspicions about me.
We may never be friends, but I hope we can come to understand and respect one another. I look forward to continuing our conversation.

P.S. I will also post a message to your talk page, as you requested.
