Nun's Well (Cannock Wood)

Nun's Well is a haunted site just outside the village of Cannock Wood in Staffordshire.Local legend has it that hundreds of years ago, an unfortunate nun was once pushed down this well, with the well promptly being covered up. The sight was haunted ever since.

Supposedly, years later, farm labourers uncovered the well and her phantom appeared before them. The well has since become overgrown by a tree, although a chasm is still visible between its roots. It is all rather reminiscent of a Johnny Depp film.
