"You Gotta Not"
Song

"You Gotta Not" is a song by English girl group Little Mix from their fourth studio album Glory Days (2016). It co-written by American recording artist Meghan Trainor.

Critical Reception

With lead single ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ topping the charts for three consecutive weeks in the UK, this is the second taster of the group’s upcoming mature and sassy album. Co-written by Meghan Trainor, ‘You Gotta Not’ is an upbeat, sassy and entertaining anthem. With a confident, self-assured beat and tight harmonies, the track proves that the girls have originality when it comes to writing break-up songs.[4]

With the beat consisting of the piano and drum beats, the Meghan Trainor vibe comes through as her innocent almost playful style is more maturely adopted. Pleading for their men to grow up (“I don’t get paid to babysit no one / I’m only looking for the one to love”), this could easily be another dig at Perrie’s ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik.[5]
