My name is Christian Kinney, I was born in Reston, Virginia. I started playing the piano at a young age when I moved to Hagerstown, MD. When I moved to Smyrna, Tennessee my parents enrolled me into singing and piano lessons. There I would secretly attend 30 minute lessons every friday for the next 10 years. Growing up, I was always into sports and didn't want to be known as a singer for fear of humiliation. My 8th grade year I had a few friends in the neighborhood we would always stay out late playing football, basketball, etc. One day I went to one of my friends older brothers house. Him and a few of his high school buddies were recording music. I sat and watched as they all recorded and talked about music. Growing up I would sneak in the tv room to watch BET and saw videos by various artists including: Ja-rule, Yung Ralph, Outkast, 50 Cent, Juvenile and many more. So watching people record music was very intriguing. Finally a few weeks later I decided to make a track at the house with a few of my neighborhood friends. We named it "Im Ballin" it immediately gained attention all over facebook and everyone at our middle school loved it. From then on my friends did other things but I fell inlove with music. That next year I quit baseball, which was my pride and joy, and I labeled myself as a music artist. After many name changes, I chose the name Kidd Fly. At first, I got alot of hate, but I always had many fans which were all girls from the surrounding cities. I dropped my first music video my sophomore year on youtube called "Pardon Me" featuring my friend Dayday. At the time we were part of a group called 2LuckyMusicGroup. We had our first show in Nashville. I think there was maybe 20 people there. I continued to do music but fell off quite a bit. 6 months I would go hard, 6 months I would completely stop. Finally my senior year I released a song produced by my manager/friend at the time Marks Stephens, called "Turnt Up" which I later had to delete because my private school didn't like the fact that I was in a hookah bar. The song itself still sits on youtube with over 20.000 views today. I settled down with the girlfriend I had at the time and slowly gave up on music. I began fascinating myself with cars, my girlfriend, and since it was my senior year, college. I graduated, and that fall attended the University Of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I became overwhelmed with college life and music wasn't in my life that much anymore. After being dumped by my girlfriend at the time of almost a year and a half, I dropped out and moved back home to work and figure myself out. Fast forward, I decide to give music a chance again and began uploading music on soundcloud, and later moving to North Hollywood, California. After 6 months of stress and hard work, I gave up once again and moved back to Tennessee. Finding myself, I considered college again, but after having an enlightening phone call with a close friend, I began my music career once and for all. I quickly started to regain attention. Building connections and networking. I managed to set up a Video shoot for my new single "Medicine Day 2" which was released 11/29 and had over 21,000 plays in 4 days. The video is being filmed in Chicago and will be released Late January/Early February. And I have A XXL radio interview which will air in March of 2018. God has been blessing me tremendously and I cant wait to see what the future holds.
