Vocus Communications originated in Australia in 2008 and arrived in New Zealand in 2012 with the acquisition of Maxnet. Two years later, Vocus Communications also acquired FX Networks, giving the brand both data centre and network assets in New Zealand.

In 2016, Vocus Communications ANZ merged with M2 Group, creating Vocus Group with a suite of brands across Australia and New Zealand.

Vocus Communications is the Group's market facing brand for business, government and wholesale telco services.
