Raymone K. Bain is a 2016 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, which was presented to her by the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. She is crisis management and damage control guru, grassroots campaign manager, and longtime public relations and public affairs executive in corporate, entertainment, music, politics, government and sports. She is Chairman of The Raymone K. Bain Companies, LLC in Washington, D.C. and is one of the country’s most influential media strategists, policy analyst, international brand experts, producers, and spokespersons.

The Washington Post referred to Bain as "Keeper of the Famed." She is best known for her personal representation of some of the world's most powerful and prolific individuals, including Muhammad Ali and Serena Williams; Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, and Boyz II Men; as well as comedians Steve Harvey, Bernie Mac, and Cedric "The Entertainer," D.L. Hughley. Bain's other clients include The Reverend Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner, the African American Clergy Network (which represents over 1,000,000 parishioners), and Marion Barry, Jr. Bain led the promotion of Mayor Barry's autobiography, "Mayor for Life: The Incredible Story of Marion Barry, Jr.," which made The New York Times Best Seller List, and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award.

Career

Bain began working at The White House at age 21. She was an elite member of what was called "the Georgia Mafia," reserved only for the most influential Georgians with close proximity to President Jimmy Carter. C. DeLores Tucker and Coretta Scott King were among her mentors.

While still a student at Georgetown University Law Center, she was hired by Richard Pryor and his attorney Terry Giles. They met at a dinner party in Washington, D.C.

Bain holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA.

Michael Jackson

In 2007, Michael Jackson named Bain as his personal General Manager and President/COO of the Michael Jackson Company. He subsequently appointed her to the Board of Directors of Sony/ATV Music Publishing; as his Music Licensing Agent for MIJAC, MIRAN and Sony/ATV Music; as Trustee of MJ Publishing Trust; and made her a 10% owner of The Michael Jackson Company, as well as appointing her to the company's Board of Directors. In an October 2006 article by The Washington Post, Michael Jackson was quoted saying that he trusted Bain implicitly, and considered her to be one of his closest advisers.

Bain was Jackson's liaison for over 3,500 media representatives who covered the 2005 Jackson trial on a daily basis. Bain continues to be interviewed by major networks on public relations and public affairs topics and sports and entertainment related topics.

Media

In her October 8, 2006 Washington Post Style section article on Bain, titled "Keeper of the Famed," Post reporter Theresa Wiltz wrote about Bain, "Trouble is her specialty. Bain knows how to spin a crisis. She is, after all, a professional who has made a career out of managing perceptions…zealously guarding both her client’s images, and her own. She is master of the game."[1][2][3][4] [5] [6]
