Mitchell Paul Mullany (September 20, 1968 – May 25, 2008) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, screenwriter, and author. Mullany is best known for portraying the role of "White Mike" in the 1990s comedy sitcom The Wayans Bros.

Career

Mullany was born in Oakland, California on September 20, 1968. At the age of 19 he began his stand-up career by performing in East Oakland Rooms. A year later he preformed at MTV'S 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour, Showtime at the Apollo, and Evening at the Improve. After a minor role on the sitcom The Wayans Bros. as the recurring character "White Mike" from 1995 to 1996, he starred in his own series, Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher from 1996 to 1998. Both of these shows were aired on The WB. During breaks from acting on Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher, he would continue to do his stand-up routine. In 1999, he wrote and starred in his first featured film The Breaks (film) as "Derrick King". In 2003, he hosted an American Broadcasting Company reality series called All American Girl.[1] Mullany has also appeared multiple times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.[citation needed]

In 2006 he published his own book titled Stranded At Almost. He started a YouTube channel on January 27, 2007.

Personal life

Mullany spent most of his time between his hometown of Oakland, California and Los Angeles, California.

Death

Mullany died on May 25, 2008 of a diabetes-related stroke.[2]
