Hello Brokencraw. Thank you for the courteous way that you asked about Henry/Sir Henry Ropner. From a legal perspective, I strongly suspect that you are right that he has not formally proved his claim the Standing Council. But quite a lot of people use their titles without completing what is essentially a matter of bothering with formal paperwork, and I do see some evidence that he is using his title - viz. for instance - http://www.thepeerage.com/p56190.htm. If you feel that this is insufficient and wish to revert my edit, I will not fight you, but I think that there is a danger of letting pedantry take predence over reality in doing so. Thank youRcb1 (talk) 21:34, 7 April 2018 (UTC)rcb1[reply]

Hi Rcb1, Thank you for your swift response. Whilst I understand your sentiments of being pedantry, it appears that “bothering with formal paperwork” is the only way to be eligible to use the title. Without this, any person could claim to be a “Sir”. As Wikipedia is used as a large source of information, and primarily taken as the truth, I merely wished to point out that what you have put, at this moment in time, is incorrect. In this case, Mr Ropner is also incorrect in using the title too as he has not proven eligibility. May I leave the moral dilemma with you as to whether you remove the term “Sir” from those who have not yet been granted to use it? With best wishes Brokencraw (talk) 21:13, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
