Hello Yawnis,

I have reverted your edits to 1960 New York mid-air collision, most recently this, but also this. It is not clear to me what you are referring to with the title "Why Planes Crash" as you did not include a good citation (author, publisher, page). In any case, period newspaper reporting, retrospective reporting, and the CAB Aircraft Accident Report all concur on where these aircraft were bound: The DC-8, United Airlines flight 826 was bound for Idlewild Airport, more formerly known in that day as International Airport, New York. Trans World Airlines flight 266, the Model 1049A Constellation, was bound for LaGuardia. It is not clear to me how a contrary case made in "Why Planes Crash" can be compelling. I appreciate your contributions to the encyclopedia, and I also appreciate your effort to ground your edit on some kind of reference, but these, sadly, vary in quality. Please read the existing references carefully; many are available online, and triple-check first any reference which might be at variance with these. It's too easy to find sources careless about events of fifty years ago; Even these need to be checked before relying on them. Gosgood (talk) 22:08, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
