The genus Otoconclus includes over a dozen species including: O. affinis (Golden Oto), bororo, caxarari, cocama (Zebra Oto), flexilis (Peppered Oto), gibbosus, hasemani, hoppei, huaorani, macrospilus, mariae, mura, tapirape, vestitus, vittatus and xakriaba.

  • Genus: Otocinclus (auto SINK luss) - Oto = ear; cinclus = a latticework; an allusion to the holes in the head in the region of the ear
  • Common Name: Dwarf Sucker, Oto
