Valamis Group Ltd. is a Finnish enterprise software company headquartered in Joensuu[1], Finland. It is the developer of the Valamis an elearning software used by enterprises and universities for online learning.

History

Arcusys was founded on December 18, 2003[2], by Jussi Hurskainen, Mika Kuikka, Kyösti Nevalainen and Mikko Taivainen. In the early years, Valamis’ main business was working as a subcontractor for large manufacturing corporations. When technology development took off within the company in 2007, Valamis started to cooperate with universities.

In 2012, Arcusys acquired the software company Fudeco Ltd[3] and expanded its offices to Oulu[4], Finland.

In 2016, the company acquired the predictive analytics company Olapcon Ltd[5]. Making the total employee count exceed 130 professionals.

In May 2018, Arcusys changed its name to Valamis.

Awards and recognition

  • 2017 National Entrepreneur Award (“Valtakunnallinen Yrittäjäpalkinto 2017” - Finland)[6]. Award was granted by Suomen Yrittäjät.
  • 2017 Brandon Hall Group Gold Award for excellence in the Best Advance in Learning Management Technology for Compliance Training[7], awarded as Arcusys.
  • 2017 Brandon Hall Group Bronze Award for excellence in the Best Advance in Unique Learning Technology[7], awarded as Arcusys.
  • 2016 Brandon Hall Group Silver Silver Award for excellence in the Best Advance in Unique Learning Technology[8], awarded as Arcusys.
