Lockhart Tea Museum

The Lockhart Tea Museum is located in Munnar, which was originally constructed in 1936. It is situated 9 km from Munnar Town on Thekkadt Road. This was opened for public on 22nd January 2014, before this nobody is allowed.

This Museum was belong to Lockhart Estate which is the first plantation in High Range(Munnar) started by Mr.Baroness von Rosenburg during 1879. Initially they planted Chincona then Coffee and after Tea.

This Lockhart Tea Museum is opened as tourism destination in Munnar. This building has heritage value by its construction from 1936. Those who are visiting Munnar can visit this Museum where they are exploring mainly guided Othodox Tea Factory tour and can visit Tea Museum which briefs about the plantation culture and its history from 1879.

Apart from an amazing view point is there call as "Chokarmudy View Point" , Watch Tower from there the entire valley of Lockhart can be seen. And they displayed all type of medicinal plants..
